This was an easy repair. I removed the side cover (4 hex screws) to access the sensor. Then, 2 screws and 2 low voltage connectors to remove it. I swapped out old for the new, and the heater unit works fine.
I have the Mr Heater 50000 BTU heater in my garage, mounted 10 feet up on the ceiling.
Thus, all work had to be done from a ladder.
