The guide tube goes between the sleeve bushing and the retainer spring. It is made of metal and is sold individually. This is an authentic Ridgid replacement part that is sourced from the original manufacturer for use with drain cleaners. A nutdriver and an allen wrench may be needed during the replacement of this part. It will need to be replaced if it breaks.

Pulled the entire snake out of the drum, then removed the guide tube collar by loosening two allen set screws, then used a 5/16 nut drive to remove the three bolts that secure the guide tube mount. Then I slid the guide tube and the mount out of the center hole of the unit and brought both pieces out through one of the holes in the front
... Read more of the drum. Slid the guide tube mount over the new guide tube and put it all back together. Piece of cake!
