Description:

This is a genuine manufacturer approved replacement part belt for the ground drive. It is commonly used with riding lawn mowers/tractors. This is the ground drive belt that connects the engine crankshaft pulley to the transmission pulley. Over time belts tend to wear and and stretch requiring replacement. It is always a good idea to clean the pulleys off before installing the new belt to ensure top performance and longevity with the new belt. This rubber belt is sold individually.

To complete this repair you will need a wrench and a screwdriver.

Removed cutting deck. Removed old drive belt. Put new belt on. Removed shifter and broken spring, put new spring on replace shifter

The deck idler pulley had disintegrated and prevented the drive belt from working properly

Lifted the front of the tractor up on cinder blocks and removed the mower deck per the owners manual instructions. Removed the deck idler pulley and then the drive belt. Reinstalled the drive belt and then installed the idler pulley ensuring the drive belt was properly installed. Next, reinstalled the mower deck and adjusted the side to side and the front to back adjustments per the owners manual. Then it was back to mowing the yard!

Mower deck belt worn out.

1. Removed the mower deck by pulling cotter pins, and slid out from under the mower on a blanket.
2. Cleaned under the deck with a wire brush.
3. Removed the drive belt, which involved disconnecting the clutch wire harness and the clutch locator.
4. Replaced the drive belt, testing belt for free movement.
5. Replaced the mower deck, fitting the mower deck belt around the clutch pulley.
6. Tested the mower deck belt for free movement.
7. Reconnected the clutch wire harness and the clutch locator.
8. Started the mower to test both belts.

Old belt would not pull lawn tractor without slipping

Lifted front of mower, removed deck, set parking brake, removed two belt guides at engagement clutch, disconnected blade engagement switch, removed belt reversed sequence and installed new belt.

1. Removed battery and disassembled tray.
2. Placed battery on footrest and reconnected.

6. Fabricated patch and reattached mounting point on mower deck.
7. Installed interlock switch, and addition parts to overhaul.
8. Reinstalled mower deck, battery tray and battery.
