Removed the battery. My model also has an easy-detachable safety plug, which I removed.
Turned the lawnmower over, and folded up a couple sheet size towels and put them over the blade.
Removed the screws and nuts holding on the grass flap rod, noticing how the parts were attached.
Opened up metal straps and fitted them o
... Read morever the new grass flap, used needle nose pliers to close it back up, then used the same pliers to match up the holes, squeezing the straps shut again.
Attached new grass flap rod with the screws and nuts.
Helpful things:
Finding a video of someone unpacking and assembling my model lawnmower so I could be pretty sure I had it assembled the way it originally came out of the box before using the lawnmower.
Magnetic tipped screwdriver.
