This OEM white drum glide is also known as a drum slide or pad. Your dryer is equipped with two drum glides, each measuring approximately 33 inches in length. They provide support to the drum and ensure smooth and quiet rotation during operation. If you notice that the drum fails to tumble or if you observe marks on your clothes, your drum glides may have worn out. Worn-down drum glides can also result in a metal-on-metal noise. To replace the drum glide, start by removing top panel with a putty knife or a flat tool. Unthread the two screws that secure the lower access panel and remove the panel. Then, proceed to unthread the two mounting screws that secure the control panel, detach the panel, and release the wires from the retaining clip. Next, disconnect the dryer door switch wire connector and unthread the upper left screw that secures the inner access panel. This will make it easier to remove the front panel and lint filter duct assembly. Continue to unthread the screws securing the front panel, and if the old drum glide is still intact, pry it off. Install the new drum glide by aligning it on the drum rim and snapping the tabs into the slots. Keep in mind that the drum glide is sold individually, so it is recommended to replace both drum glides simultaneously since they tend to wear out at similar rates.
