Broken gear in gearcase
Simple to remove the gearcase assembly with 2 hex drive screws. New head fit right on with one of the hex screw being a alignment screw everything tightened right up. Local dealer told me they couldn't get the part and wanted to sell me a new trimmer. Got the part from ereplacement parts in 3 days. Thanks folks, my T231 works like new
