This is an authentic item that is supplied by original equipment manufacturer for use with Kawasaki engines commonly installed on lawn and garden equipment. It is the special air-filter element which helps to ensure the air that goes into the engine is free of dust and other contaminants, please note the main pleated paper filter is sold separately. Over time the part will get clogged restricting the air flow and eventually requiring a replacement to maintain peak performance.

Kawasaki GE 5000AS generator.
Where we live the power goes out frequently during storms and severe weather. We need the generator ready to go year round. (I will be purchasing all of my parts from e replacements in the future.
1) I was told by repair shops and on line parts suppliers that the air filter was not available but could be ordered for $117.00 ER had the OEM air filter in stock for $23.xx as I recall. It was delivered in THREE DAYS!
2) No one local had an oil filter for my generator. ER had an OEM filter.
3) The foam air filter element was also available.
