The cover for the chainbar housing has a plastic piece that sticks in the hole on one corner. That broke off and the cover for the chain bar is not secure. Need a new cover, just want to be sure it has that plastic piece to hold the cover in place. Do you have that part? If so I would like to purchase the cover. Also, the gear that holds the chain had what looked like trash around it, so I pulled it out. Once out I realized it may be some sort of insulation and possible not weeds of some sort. Need to know if there is some sort of insulation there, and if I may have issues with the gear that spins the blade? Please respond to both questions. Thanks, Ben

Hello Ben, Thank you for the question. The Cover for the Chain Bar would be Part Number: 3130408001. We checked the gear and it does not show any type of insulation. We hope this helps!

I have a CS188 chain saw. A platic molded "pin" on the case to keep the bar positioned is worn out. None of the parts houses have housings. What is your plan to fix this design problem?

My dealer sold me a replacement chainsaw blade that he believed would fit my 18" Ego chainsaw. I have not put this blade on as I have doubts about the suitability of this new blade. Will this blade Oregon-AdvanceCut-S62 be appropriate for my saw? I, obviously, wish to be safe. Thanks, Mike.

do you always tighten the chain tensioner knob as far as it can go clockwise? that's what the directions imply...says it will not be overtightened. (page 39)

Hi Brad, Thank you for your question. Yes, your owner's manual mentions to, replace the side cover onto the power head by fully tightening the quick chain-tension adjust knob clockwise.
