I have a vintage Black & Decker U-278 Deluxe Lawn Edger & Trimmer. A replacement blade would require a 1/2" ID round hole to work. What is the ID of the hole in the blade?

Just took of the old one and replaced it with the new one. I must admit that I was nervous about ordering the new blade. I am old fashioned and like to see what I'm getting. I was nervous that the new one may not fit but it fit perfectly and did a great job for me trimmer around my yard.

Removed the bolt and nut from the pivot arm, then removed the cracked wheel. Installed the new wheel on the pivot arm with the bolt and nut. Just remove the the blade nut and washers and remove the old blade. Then just replace the inside washer,then the blade, outside washer and tighten blade nut.

To remove the wheel, remove the bolt and nut that are holding it to the pivot arm. Replace the new wheel in reverse. Then simply remove the nut that hold that holds the old blade on, then replace it with the new blade. If you don't have the new type of washers for this blade you will need to order them.
