The drum attaches to the ball bearings. This item is made of metal and is sold individually. The additional holes are for balancing the drum. It is an authentic OEM sourced item which is specially produced for use with Makita planers. A wrench might be necessary during the installation of this part. It will need to be replaced if it becomes broken.
