This part is an OEM from Whirlpool and KitchenAid for use with Dishwashers. The door spring cable kit connects to the dishwasher door hinges to help support the door as is opens and closes. The kit includes two door balance links and two door balance mounts with wheels, which will replace both the left and right sides. The reason for replacing the door balance link is if it is damaged or the dishwasher door is not opening and closing properly. The tools that you will need to replace the door balance link is a Phillips screwdriver, 5/16" nut driver, and a 5/8" wrench. Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water supply before installing this part.

The door balance system on the right side was broken leaving only the left side operational.
I replaced one assembly side at a time, starting with the broken side.
The fixed plastic pulley system is held in place with only one screw. I removed that screw.
I installed the new replacement pulley system, and connected the rope to the spring at one end and the door on the other.
Finally, I installed the rope around the pulleys. This was a little bit like changing speeds on a multiple pulley power tool, like a drill press.
That completes one side installation. Follow the same procedure for the other side and you're done.
