This is the Side Discharge Chute for the lawn mowers listed below.
It is mounted to the side of the mower for the cut grass to be expelled out of it.
You also have the option of using part number 987-02516A Mulch Plug Assembly if you want to mulch your grass.

Does the replacement side-discharge chute come with the mounting bracket which afixes the discharge chute to the mower deck?

Hello Bob, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and the mounting bracket does not come with the chute. The chute is installed by lifting up the mulch plug and snapping the chute into place underneath it, as seen in our video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxwoxwNW4wE If the mulch plug is damaged, then you would need to replace it or the bracket which we have listed as related parts below. had to lift up the side chute, block shield & slide discharge chute into place, only takes a few seconds to do.

Remove belt all screws on bottom of mower remove blade and plastic cover under blade. Wheels just unbolt and remove.

The original discharge chute would fall off. Last last time this happened; I did not see that it fell off and I ran over it with the mower.

Reattached part - no tools needed. Perfect fit and it does not fall off like the original part did. Thanks!
