The part that is pictured above is not the part I received. Not sure if part was miss packaged or miss labeled, they were kind enough to refund my money and re order the part, but when it came in the mail it was the same part that was previously sent. Removed saw blade with Allen wrench. Removed blade guard rubber stop with Philips screwdriver. Raised blade guard all the way til adjustment knob assembly screw was open to remove. Reversed the method to make circular saw safe again. The blade guard rubber stop screw has a nut that's not noticeable. Be careful and watch under screw for the nut to fall free.

Bought the saw from homedepot but some one had stripped it for parts then returned it

All i had to do was pop the adjuster knob bolt back into place slide the adjuster bar back into place mount the washer over the bolt then thread the female threaded knob back on.
