This replacement deflector-side is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Toro lawn mowers. It is mounted to the side of the deck to prevent grass from shooting out. Over time it may get damaged or lost eventually requiring a replacement. This part is made of high-quality plastic and is sold individually. Please note, the hardware to secure it is sold separately. Refer to the owner's manual and the parts diagrams to ensure the correct repair procedure.

Fits perfectly, takes a bit to install if you are a novice
This is a perfect replacement part for your 30" Toro mower. Since I was replacing this part on my mower deck because the original part was damaged, I also decided to purchase a new spring....but used the original pin and metal frame that came with the mower. Because we needed to create tension on the spring so that it worked properly, we ended up placing the new plastic deflector-side part in a "vise" to hold it. With that part secured, it was easier for us to install the "spring, rod, and metal holder (that mounts to the mower deck) onto the new plastic deflector-side cover. This allowed us to create the necessary tension on the spring by turning/twisting the left-side of the spring using a set of plyers across the metal frame. Now that we had the entire component assembly completed, we could then mount it to the mower deck. We found using 2 people to install this item on the mower deck worked better than trying to just have one person try to install it. One person was able to position the newly constructed component "open" over the two bolt openings while the other tightened the bolts onto the mower deck. Once installed, the product worked great. We are sure that a professional lawn mower repair technician has much better ways to handle the installation of an item like this, but we are not those technicians. As a do-it-yourself individual, our method worked and it was the only way we could figure out how to get the spring tension correct to make the product work properly. The entire key to the product working correctly is the spring tension which forces the part to close properly on the mower deck. I hope this helps.
