This is a clear glass oval lid for a slow cooker. It has a black plastic handle in the middle. The lid is simply place over top of the stoneware to retain heal while in operation. If the lid is damaged it will need to be replaced right away because the glass could shatter otherwise. The lid is sold separately and comes directly from the manufacturer to ensure the proper fit.
