My Craftsman mower has been parked for 2 years with 4 flat tires, a dead battery and this console bent beyond repair. It was time to rehab the mower rather than spend over $1,000 to replace it. Nice quality.
It's nice to be able to raise and lower the blades again and see evenly cut grass. My only suggestion--(for the part supplier) is to include the bolt needed to securely attach it to the mower. Mine fell off somewhere out in the yard while mowing and I bet this happens 9 times out of 10. I found a usable bolt in my spare parts but it doesn't fit perfectly.

1. Removed the deck from the mower, used a socket to remove the nut holding the pulley on the mandrel.
2. Replaced the pulley and tightened the nut.
3. Removed the broken clutch cable using needle nose pliers to pull the spring off of the lever. The spring is just held on by a lock ring that will fall off when spring is remov
... Read moreed, so be sure to hold your hand under it to catch it. Installed the new cable pulling the spring back over the lever pin with the lock ring in place.
4. Routed the new cable through the mower frame like the old one and attached to the lever.
Replaced the clutch cable bracket (It had snapped off, on the deck, one bolt holds it on.) (where the other end of the cable connects) and attached the clutch cable spring to the pulley arm.
