This is a genuine OEM part. The Penn click spring is made for use with Baitcast Reels, and is sold individually. The metal spring is fastened onto the click tongue and spool assembly, giving it the needed resistance. Although this spring is sold individually, two are necessary for the fishing reel. You will need a screwdriver for the installation.

Screwdriver, Reel grease

Removed two thumb screws on side of reel, removed side of reel. Pulled spool out through open side of reel, then removed three small screws, to access clicker by removing side plate! Replaced broken spring! Greased springs, and assembled reel!

1. Remove crank side of reel
2. Remove spool
3. Remove the 3 small screws on the inside of the faceplate - this will allow you to access the
spring
4. Attached one side of the spring and then using a small jeweler's screwdriver, stretch and
attach the other end of the spring.
To reassemble the reel, reverse the order of steps 1-3.

Level wind gear was broken, clicker springs were worn/stretched out

Removed right side plates and spool, removed left side plate from frame, removed broken idler gear, cleaned side plate, new grease, replaced clicker springs, reattached left side plate to frame, drop of oil in the spool bearing, reinsert spool, attached right side plate, then tested. Easy, but the left side plates are small and require small thin six inch long screwdriver.

Remove the side plate, remove the spool, remove the tiny screws from the opposite side plate. Replace the clicker and the springs, then reassemble. Make sure to re-grease parts.
