Product Description ?

This carburetor is an authentic Craftsman replacement part and is compatible with hedge trimmers. The carburetor mixes air and gas before the fuel mix goes to the engine. This part comes with the carburetor assembly, as well as the primer bulb. Let the engine cool and drain the gas tank before starting this repair. You may need a screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers to aid you in this repair.

    Screwdriver, Torx wrench

    1. Checked spark plug and spark.
    2. Checked fuel lines and fuel quality.
    3. Used carb cleaner.
    4. Checked fuel pump bulb for cracks.
    5. Used starting fluid. All no good.
    I noticed that the fuel pump bulb did not seem to be moving fuel to the carb properly. Decided to replace carb. This fixed the problem.

    removed filter and housing lid, removed two nuts disconnected throttle cable, removed carburetor and installed new carburetor, reinstalled throttle cable, two nuts, filter and housing lid. Pumped the primer bulb and started the engine. Works great.

    Removed air filter and housing
    Removed gas lines from carb and drained old gas from tank
    Removed carb from studs, being careful to remove gaskets for reuse
    Installed new carb being careful to install gaskets. Hoses and linkage as removed
    Reinstalled air filter housing and filter
