Product Description

?

Genuine Manufacturer Sourced replacement part designed for use with certain Flex Power Tools. This part is made out of Carbon with a Lead Wire attached. This item includes One (1) Carbon Brush per order. Carbon motor brushes are one of the most commonly replaced power tool components. Because carbon brushes are wear items, meaning that through friction and use they will gradually wear away, they will eventually require replacement. Worn brushes are common causes of intermittent motor function, reduced electric braking, and reduced motor power. A worn out brush will often be worn down near the wire lead and may be cracked, pitted, or burned. When replacing carbon brushes, be sure to also inspect your armature for burns, cracks, or other damage which indicates a larger motor problem.

Loosen two torques drive screws at back of machine. Slide plastic housing off.
Remove plastic covers over brushes by sliding them back. Use needle nose pliers to pull connecting wire to brush of contact point.
Carefully hook coil spring on the side out of the way.
Sometimes the carbon brush will deform so much so that it will not slide out. Use small sharp screw driver to chip of the part of brush that stops it from sliding out. Pull brush. This should be easy never force it. Clean inside of brush chamber by scraping the chamber.
Brush should slide in and out with ease.
Reassemble.
