This part is an authentic KitchenAid part. The Attachment Cap is made from metal and has frosted finish. This part includes the hinge and the retaining ring that attaches to the front of the Motor Housing. It is common for this part to become loose over time. This part can be difficult to replace since it is only held on with tension. Once the old part is removed, three pairs of ridges are visible. These ridges line up with the ridges on the retaining ring. Using a hammer, gently tap the retaining ring into place. If the retaining ring slips off it is recommended to use a drop or two of super glue on each pair of ridges.
