1. Use star drive to remove self-propel lever from handle, open the handle unit and remove cable.
2. Remove cover from drive unit.
3. Remove drive cable.
4> Thread new cable through hole in deck and attach hook to drive unit so that pulling the handle will raise unit and engage drive belt. clip cable housing to deck.
... Read morer />5. Thread new cable into the lever assembly and reattach to the handle.
6. Adjust cable length by turning the cable housing at the handle assembly until the drive mechanism is engaged when the handle is squeezed to the mower handle bar.
7. Replace drive mechanism cover to deck.
1. Removed broken cable, where cable is normally connected to drive gear. Removed cable from other end. Connected new cable to drive gear and connected to lever that cable engages drive gear. Removed and replaced mower blade w/socket/ratchet on bolt / washer. Tested. Works like new.
1. Run the cable through the lubes.
2. Attached the cable to the drive wheel.
3. Attached the other end to the control cable lever housing.
4. Reassembled the cable housing and tighten to the handle bar.

Checked to see if transmission engaged
Cable was broken at the transmission.
Transmission worked well and old cable was removed new cable was installed
