The brush bar black soft bristles that get the fine dust had worn off unevenly
Followed the graphic instructions:
1. took the brush head off the machine
2. took the floor face plate off the head
3. took out the screw that holds the support for the side of the brush
4. pulled the brush out sideways
5. cleaned the interior of the empty floor head
6. pushed in the new brush head from the open side
7. inserted the side support for the brush head and inserted the screw
8. reassembled the face plate and then
9. reattached the head to the machine.
10. tested it and it worked.
it was pretty easy. and a good chance to get cat hair out of crevices.

Removed the bottom assembly
I screwed the one screw
Pulled out the roller
Replace the roller
Reassemble
