This is a great replacement part for my Makita drill. The drill had been intermittently working and the brush area had been getting warm when it did work. I order this part and new brushes, and everything fit perfect. The only thing I should have noted when taking it apart is that the motor fits in with the notch down. Once I figured the clocking out it went back together nicely.

Both halves of the rear cover needed to be removed from the motor assembly in order to replace the brush holder, that was the only complication. A lot of things (trigger, speed selector) must come out of their nested position and need to be put back into place carefully.
