As an additional precaution you may want to check the black plastic where the caps screw on for missing chunks and pieces(black plastic part itself is not expensive but the labor to install it may be expensive and time consuming if you resort to having it done by someone else as the drill have to be split apart and then some), apparently a very common occurrence, especially on old used tools.
Mine's were on fair-borderline bad-halfway missing. Thankfully there was enough threads showing on the black plastic part for the caps to grab on.
