Product Information
Description:
This replacement brush assembly is an authentic OEM part that is specially made for Ryobi sanders. Carbon brushes are one of the most commonly replaced power tool components, through friction and regular use they will gradually wear away eventually requiring replacement. This assembly includes one carbon brush in a plastic holder with a metal wire terminal. To complete this repair you will need a screwdriver, it is highly advised to replace both brushes at the same time. |

Loss of power, then not operating
1. I started with new brushes, and after I installed them I didn't notice a piece was missing on the armature so when I tested it the new brushes were damaged.
2. After receiving replacements for the damaged brushes and a new armature I installed both.
3. Removing the cover on top, then the sides to open the device.
4. Removed old armature, and reattached the fan and bottom plate to new armature.
5. Remounted armature in case, and installed the new brushes being careful to run the wires attached in their respective groves in the case.
reassembled the case, reinserted the on/off switch slider, and remounted the top cover.
6. Sander is now operational again.
Note - if you are going to just replace the brushes (and this goes for all such installations) check that the armature where the brushes contact it is intact.
