This is an authentic Waring replacement part, sourced from the original manufacturer for use with blenders. Brushes are items that will wear down over time and eventually need to be replaced. Worn brushes can cause the blender to run off and on, and can prevent the motor from starting all together. This brush is sold individually, please note two brushes are required.

2. Having never worked on a motor of any kind before, the only hard part was figuring out where the brush and spring assemblies were. Once I found that, it was really easy taking out the old worn out ones and putting in the two new ones.
3. After putting the motor casing back together, I plugged it in and it started right up. Success. This is a repair that the local Waring authorized dealer charged me $300 for in the past, and this repair cost $40 with shipping. The hardware store wouldn't take any payment for helping me get the motor casing unscrewed.
