Question: Will Not Charge

Linda

I have loved my dustbuster 1560 and have used it for a few years. Recently I bought a 2nd one at a garage sale for the upstairs. I could not get it to charge on its charger, so I tried to put the new(used) vacuum on my original charger. Now my original dustbuster will not charge. Can you help me to figure out what I need to do to have at least one of them working?

Question: CHV1560 Dustbuster BD

Mindy

I noticed it charges but does not last as long. My main complaint is that the plug unit is brown and burnt looking and very warm to the touch. What needs replacing?
I was having the same problem. I was getting only 2 minutes of decent suction before the battery started to fade.

So just for the hell of it I tryed "Deep Cycling" the battery. I have to do this with my Braun Razor from time to time to keep the battery fresh.

To "Deep Cycle" the battery, the first thing you need to do is drain the battery completely.

This can be done turning on the dustbuster and let is run until the it stops running.

Once it stops running turn the power switch off and then turn it on again. The motor may begin to run again. Let it run until it stops. You will need to repeat this step until when you turn it off and then on it doesn't run anymore.

Then plug it into the charger and let it charge for 24 hours before attempting to use it again.

I did this on mine and it ran significantly longer that before.

You may have to run a couple of "Deep Cycles" to get the battery back to close to new

Question: Replace Battery

Joe

I have a CHV1560, is there an easy way to remove the battery, or do I need to remove all the screws and take it apart?
Question: Not Charging

David

There is no light on vacuum while on base pad would it be the battery or the charging base? The vacuum is less then 2 years old. Thank you
I have the same problem. I assumed it was the base. I ordered it. It still doesn't charge. I will be trying the battery next...
