gears stripped could not raise or lower blade

removed nut, used allen wrench to hold bolt and removed top retaining nut and washer.
removed screw on bevel gear, replaced gear with new gear.
removed screw on bevel gear to handle, removed snap ring, pulled handle out, pulled spring and removed broken handle.
replaced handle (it too broke where pin holds in for turning), spring and reinserted. installed new bevel gear and snap ring.
Now for the bad news, once all this was done, blade still won't go up or down and when I applied a bit extra force, the handle again stripped.
Looking to upgrade to new was with metal gears.
Teeth plastic height adjustment gears and hand crank were stripped out
