It is a genuine item that is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer for use with a Ridgid planer. This replacement part is the main belt that drives the cutter head. Over time belts tend to wear out and stretch eventually requiring replacement to maintain peak performance. It is made of high-quality rubber material and it is sold individually.
I replaced all the sprockets and drive chains. I figured there was too much lash in both chains so I replaced them and the sprockets. My time is more valuable than the cost of the 4 sprockets especially since they had to come off to replace both chains.
I simply assembled the bearings and spacer on the shaft, inserted the assembled parts into the planer housing sleeve, attached the fan to one end and the pulley and belt to the other end, reattached the planer cover and the job was done.
Belt broke during use of the planer, was taking off more than I should, exhaust port backed up causing the belt to break...ordered new belt, repair place wanted approx. $ 100 to fix, I did for less th
Removed exhaust port, removed cover on side and install \"V\" belt over pullies, put cover back on, tested and everything worked fine. This is the 2nd time I have used ereplacement parts...inexpensive, easy...You Tube has repair videos by someone. Thanks
