Question: Weed Eater XT 260
How do I know if I have a type 1 or type 2 Weed Eater XT260?
Reply: Weed Eater XT 260
One of the differences I can see in both parts diagrams is item number 7 . The type 1 flex shaft, part number 530095803 is describing the shaft as 50 inches long. The type 2, item number 7, part number 530096276 does not give us a length. Try measuring the flex shaft on your trimmer. Hopefully this will give you an idea on which type you have.
Hope this helps,
Question: Starts/no Run
i have a Featherlite XT260. I can get it started with the choke on full but as soon as I switch it to run it dies. I've put new gas in it checked the spark plug and still no luck. Any ideas?

I had one like that brand new and I had the same problem. I took it to a dealer and all it was is a carburetor adjustment, it took the guy 5 sec tops.
my weedeater won't stay on. I cleaned the carb, checked the spark plug and the gas. What can be wrong?
Check the fuel lines and vent lines for cracks and possibly change the filter pickup inside the fuel tank.
