Question: Fuse?

I was using my PE#225 Edger and I hadn't been running it for a long period of time and it just quit...I thought maybe it just got hot but after letting it sit for a few minutes no luck...It gave no indication of getting hot. I edged a small section, stopped, cleaned the area and went to start again and it would do nothing.....I looked on a manual I got online and it said something about a fuse, but the diagram says nothing about a fuse....??? Any suggestions?

I need to replace the drive gear in my PE225 because the teeth are chewed up. How do I remove the old gear from the shaft, so that the new one can be placed on the shaft? Is there any secret to putting the new one on?
