Question: Weedeater GE 21

J C

I am trying to fix the small fuel line but have difficulties removing the parts. Any quick and easy suggestions?

Question: Replacing Pull String

Sidney golfer

How do I replace the pull string on a GE 21?

Reply: Replacing Pull String

Kirk

I was looking some things up the other day and just happened to watch a video on replacing a spring for the pull rope so hope this helps you.
First you will need torx driver long enough to reach the 3 screws behind the blade, take them off and the whole blade assemly comes off the gas tank unsnaps where you can set it off to the side, you nect come to a clutch remove the nut careful not to scar the clutch then there are 2 plastic dogs to be removed remove them then pull clutch off, Now your at the rope housing you may have to use a screw driver to get this out but there you are the rope and spring assembly! hope this helps if not to late.

I am replacing the fuel lines on my edger. Are the two holes in the bottom of the fuel tank only sealed by placing the the new lines through those holes into the tank? Also, in the fuel line replacement kit, there is a small plastic connection included. Where and how is this included in the process?

Thanks

Question: BIG HOSE/small Hole

Leo Kuzmicki

GE 21 Gas edger.

How do you put the slightly larger plastic tubing through the smaller holes at the bottom of the plastic gas tanks? It seems that the hose is deliberately larger so as to form a perfect seal where it passes through the tank. Does this require a special tool or a secret technique? Also, Seal-All does not work.

Cut the hose diagonally (to create a point). That will make it easier to get into the gas tank. Once through the tiny hole, cut it straight to go into the fitting.

Question: BLADE CHANGING

RUPERT JONES

How do I lock the shaft in order to loosen the bolt to replace the blade?

Reply: BLADE CHANGING

zach

What I do is turn the edger on its side (blade facing you), then I take a large screwdriver and put it in one of the screw holes that holds on the blade cover. That will stop the blade from turning.

i just let the blade hit the concrete and that holds it then take nut off counter clock wise.

i take that back the nut comes off clock wise sorry

Question: Fuel Line

sanford hochman

Is it difficult to replace the plastic fuel lines, and where could I find a diagram showing how to do this? Thank you,
Sanford Hochman

It is not hard to replace the fuel line. Slide it off of the carb and the tank. Now pull it though the body.

Yes, it is very difficult. The replacement hose is a bit larger than the hole it has to go through. This is so it forms a perfect seal and does not leak. NO, do not drill the hole larger thinking you can make up the difference with something like Seal-All, it just does not work like they say.
