There is a part that fits onto the drive shaft, held together with two bolts. This must have come loose and was broken to bits. The drive shaft does not seem to be damaged, but I cannot find a picture or number for that part. Help?
How do you remove the starter from the engine and see if it operates normally when it isn't connected to the engine in an effort to determine if the motor is seized?
When I attempt to pull the cord to start my mower, the cord comes out about about 6 inches and stops. If I pull hard enough, it lifts the front of the mower up! Whats wrong with it? Is it an easy fix?
The first thing to do is remove the starter from the engine and see if it operates normally when it isn't connected to the engine. If it does then you likely have a major engine problem. The problem you described can be an indicator of and engine that has been seized. If that is the case the engine would most likely need to be replaced.
The governor springs you refer to are part of the engine assembly. Most manufactures of larger outdoor power equipment, such as lawnmowers, snowblowers, walk behind edgers, etc., build only the machine and then out source the engine to a manufacture of small engines. They rely on the manufacture of the engine to supply engine parts and warranty service through their network of service centers and dealers. To find parts for the engine on your machine you will need to know the brand, model and type number of the engine itself. This information will usually be located on a tag right on the engine. Some manufactures will stamp the information right into the castings.
Here at ereplacementparts.com we currently offer parts for Briggs & Stratton, Honda Kohler and Kawasaki engines. The links on the left side of this page will assist you in locating parts for these engines.
Black smoke would indicate that the engine is running too rich. The carburetor needs to be adjusted. It is a good idea to let a small engine shop adjust your carb as serious engine damage can result if a carburetor is adjusted too lean.
I need to replace the fuel line and do not know what it involves. Can you tell me if the top of motor where the crank cable is wrapped will need to be removed to get to the line?
When replacing the blade with a Weedeater 22" replacement blade, the new blade says "bottom" not 'grass side'. Is "bottom' towards the mower or toward the grass? I don't have a torque wrench, is it possible to over-torque the bolt?
My weedeater lawn mower more often than not will not grab when pulling cord(pulls easy without cranking motor). I have to pull off engine the top and manually rotate the plastic clips to catch. I do not see any part matching my problem. What can i do?
Thanks

I need to replace the bolt that is on the gas tank side that helps hold up the gas/air filter and lead into the main body of the engine? What is it called and can I find a replacement here?
The engine on your mower would have been manufactured by a different company than the rest of the mower. You will need to find the brand, model and type of the engine on your mower. We can currently offer parts for Briggs & Stratton engines. If your mower has a Briggs engine you can find parts for it at the following link...
With most mowers, if you hit a rock, it will shear the flywheel key. This one will just bend the blade and quit working, losing all compression. On the good side, the flywheel key will not shear. So in closing if you hit something with this mower you will need to replace the mower for $149 instead of a $4.00 flywheel key.
