Question: Drive Belt
I recently acquired a Troy-Bilt Model 566 mower from my neighbor who had tried to get the self propel drive working. Evidently, he lost track of how the belt routing needed to be run and put the idler pulley on wrong. Can anyone please explain or give me a photo of what this assembly is supposed to look like so that I can make sure everything is together right? There used to be at least one tensioner spring on this assembly, but it was gone when I got it. The pictures in the manual do not show how this assembly goes together. Thanks!
Question: Belt Tension
I replaced the belt and belt tension spring on my Troy-Bilt walk behind but I had to adjust the drive tension wheel to the max in order to get it to engage in drive. The spring is not an OEM spring and I'm wondering if that might be the issue. I'm worried that continuing to use it at this setting may put undo stress on the new belt. Any idea's?
