Fixed my Breville BOV650 Oven. I think Breville has a design flaw. The oven operates up to 450 degrees F, and this thermal fuse is rated to 172 degrees C, or 342 degrees F. This is the second failure like this. Breville replaced the first one under warranty. Unit is now 9 years old. Paid extra for expedited shipping to get the part quicker. It will help if you have a very long Phillips head screwdriver so that you can remove the three screws that hold the housing to the front panel. Gives you needed access the the power board.

Correct Part to Repair Breville Toaster that Wouldn't Turn On
Not the world's fastest repair -- requires taking all the feet and the back panel off the toaster ( roughly 40 screws), and it took some carefully reaching in to remove the old fuse assembly and install this new one, but it worked like a charm and it's wonderful to have this (pricey, but good!) toaster oven working again. Definitely recommend.

Our Breville was almost 10 years old when it suddenly lost all power to the unit. Thanks to eReplacementParts we were able to resurrect the oven for less than $12.00 and about 3 hours of disassembly/reassembly.
Breville made it difficult to access the part and troubleshoot the problem (likely due to safety concerns for DIY'ers) but by viewing multiple DIY videos, it was worth the time. I would highly recommend testing the continuity of the thermal fuse prior to ordering, as there are a number of parts that could contribute to the failure of the unit. Thanks again.

Easier for me to unbend the existing retaining clip, remove the new retaining clip and use the old retaining clip to hold the fuse in place. Your mileage may vary.

Fixed our Breville toaster oven
Our Breville toaster oven (model 650xl) stopped working. An internet search showed that others had the same problem and were able to fix it by replacing the thermal fuse. eReplacementParts had it in stock and at a fair price. Taking the case completely off the toaster required a very long phillips screwdriver, which we didn't have. So, instead, we snipped the fuse out of the toaster and this part and then crimped the new fuse inline with the existing wires. With that, the toaster is fixed and working fine again. I only gave four stars because the new fuse is rated at 15 amp/216 degrees C. The one it replaced was rated at 10 amp/172 degrees C. Internet wisdom says for a "thermal fuse" going from 10 to 15 amps isn't a problem. I don't know if the difference of 44 degrees C (80 F) is problematic. I posed this question to eReplacements a couple weeks ago and haven't gotten a response. This part number matches Breville's, so our assumption is that Breville changed the specs to cover a wider range of products.

Breville BOV650XL Compact Smart Electric Oven, Multiple phone calls to Breville during normal business hours - each reached voice mail telling me to call back during normal business hours. Posted online inquiry at Breville web site - still waiting for response two weeks later. Found and ordered part here. Removed all screws at back and bottom of oven, including feet. Opened removed back of oven to expose thermal fuse. Disconnected one lead by detaching terminal from circuit board. Un crimped crimp-type wire nut securing second lead. Disconnected fuse assembly from frame (held by two screws)). Replacement part was a perfect match. Attached terminal lead onto circuit board fitting. Attached second lead with new screw-on wire nut. Attached fuse assembly to frame. Reassembled unit the opposite of the way it came apart. Reinstalled the zillion or so screws. Works like new. Note: screws on two of the feet are hidden by a metal tab held on by yet another screw. Remove the screw, lift the metal tab.

Instructions provided on the website were very good. The real difficulty is taking the back off the unit. Removal of the tab connector on the one end of the fuse assembly also necessitated opening the side panel a bit to allow access to the connector. That required some effort as that tab did not just slide off easily. Re-assembly of the back panel was also not a fun task as it does require quite a bit of forcing to slide it back under the outer casing while trying to align the holes and start the many tiny screws back into position without cross threading. All in all, I would not recommend this repair to anyone who has not had previous electrical/mechanical technical experience since there are electrical connections that have to be carefully made. Also beware of the sharp edges that you will encounter.

Hi, I have to say this was a very easy repair, all it takes is some good hands and patience, I followed some guidance from other websites that were pretty straight forward, to have access you have to remove all screws in the back, including the rubber feet at bottom. The only difficulty I ran into was to get my hand inside to pull the end of the fuse cable that is connected directly on the PCB , I cut the tie-wrap that holds the cables and was able to pull it out. Some folks have stated that with the new fuse you don't remember how or in what order the fuse should be connected, the replacement has a clean a wire on one end and the other has a terminal connector on it so there is no way you can invert your install, just follow the connectors as is and you are good to go. Once I replaced my fuse, put everything back together and tested my oven, has been working since without any problems!... Thank you

Remove all perimeter screws from exterior casing. Spread lower part of casing and forcibly slide back (control panel side is tough). The long white wire with plastic tubing around it going to the top back of unit houses the thermal fuse. Remove and reinstall new fuse assembly.

2. Used pliers to un-crimp the connectors holding the wires of the old assembly.
3. Snipped plastic ties that were holding wires together.
4. Had to wiggle quite a bit to get the assembly loose from the main board.
5. Attached the new wires to the connectors and re-crimped. (I didn't replace the plastic ties.)
6. Attached the new assembly to the main board.
7. Replaced outer case.

Took out over 30 VERY small screws. Pay attention, make note or photo, where they go. Photo feet before removing them, make notes as to which screws go with which feet. VAST majority of time was removing and replacing screws, actual part replacement was less than 2 minutes. Part from .ereplacementparts.com/ fit PERFECT, an exact fit. Extra long nose needle nose pliers help to remove connector from circuit board, be patient.

With the help of a young friend installed it. It was tedious and very difficult to remove all the tiny screws and pry the back off. However, with the help of a you tube video, (the learning channel) showing step by step instructions, we did it. Then came the moment of truth as we stood back and plugged it in. It continues to work perfectly!!
