The blade retainer ring for my model 4235 jig saw is a round ring with a screw to fit a round shaft. The part you show is a "D" shape. Do you have a round ring.

I am an older person and the 4235 has severed me faithfully for many years. I have repaired it twice, once for brushes and then a new switch(see question below). It is light weight efficient and easy to handle. The new ones are bulky, heavy and not friendly usable. If I could buy a new 4235 I would in a heartbeat!
