Reply: Any Replacement For Discontinued...
Unfortunately when the manufacture stopped supplying the 2610905907 table. They did not come out with a replacement for that item. There were thousands of those saw that were sold I am sure if you do some searching you'll be able to find some one that is trying to get rid of one out there.
i want to know if u sell the whole motor of a table saw i need to buy one
Did you ever find the whole motor, I too am looking for the whole thing and it doesn't look like they have one
It would be easier to buy the complete motor. Do they sell just the motor?
The manufacture does not sell the motor as a whole assembly. You would want to tear down the motor and inspect the parts that you suspect are damaged or worn. Then you would be able to order exactly what you need.
Hope this helps,
Can a ZERO Clearance Insert be made or is one available for this saw? Model 3400.
I have never seen a zero clearance insert sold for this saw by the manufacture. I have seen homemade inserts for larger saws, made with wood or plexiglas. The only concern for this style is the that thickness the material for this insert would be very thin.
Consider building a table saw sled. Use the Skil Guides available here to maintain alignment to table. It will give you a defacto zero clearance surface and more accurate crosscuts. Check You Tube for assembly suggestions.
Question: Over-Revving Motor Blue Flames
The motor on my 3400 recently began to spin at much higher RPMs (quite scary in fact!) and there are blue sparks / flames coming from within the motor. Someone has mentioned that this may be caused by the brushes and that they need to be replaced. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I'd like to be sure before start ordering parts for a not-too-expensive tool that may be more cost-effective to just replace.
The motor runs fine, but the blade does not spin. The nut is tight on the blade. Is there a snap pin on the motor? If so where is it and what is the part number?
Your saw is a gear driven tool. One of the gears is milled on the end of the armature shaft. The other is attached to the arbor shaft. Typically when a saw has the issue you described it is caused by the gears being stripped out. You will need to disassemble the motor assembly to verify this.
I hope this helps with your repair!
Question: Sliding Material Support
I have a sliding material support that has 2 rods that slide through brackets fastened on the underside of the table. The screws that hold the brackets have been lost and I can't find any
mention of this accessory anywhere. Do you sell the screws? I also need a rip fence assembly.
The clamp portion of my fence broke and I threw the whole fence away. Now I need the entire fence for the SKIL #3400 (F01230000) Table Saw (Basically everything in drawing #860). Can I get an entire unit at a lower price than the sum of all the parts. By my calculations all the parts would add up to $53.31. I'm not sure this saw is worth that much of an investment. That is practically 1/3 of what I remember paying for it. Thanks
The fence is available as an assembly. It is part #2610912942 and is available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com.
I hope this helps with your repair!
Question: Replacement Motor?
Looking for a replacement motor for my Skil table saw model 3400 - type 2. Will any other motor work in this saw?

Question: Table Saw Motor Repair
Hi, i have a Skil table saw model 3400. The motor is burnt and want to know if I can purchase a new motor for it?
Reply: Table Saw Motor Repair
The motor on your 3400 tablesaw cannot be purchased as an entire unit. There are replacement parts available for the motor. You will need to open up the motor to diagnose what parts you need. Typically when a motor "burns up" the damage is to the armature or the field or both. At minimum you will also need the brushes. You will want to look at the plastic housings and brush holders to make sure that they did not receive any damage. You may want to replace the armature bearings as well.
The armature is part #2610905924, the field is part #2610909424 and the brushes are part #2610909439. All of these parts are available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com.
I hope this helps with your repair!
Question: Skill Table Saw Model 3400-Type ...
How would I go about changing the on/off switch on my Skill saw.
Reply: Skill Table Saw Model 3400-Type ...
hello! looking at the schematic there are 3 screws around the switch that screws into the front panel of the saw and holds a cover on the inside of the saw. once the screws are removed, remove the square cover behind the switch inside the saw, with the switch in view compress the top and bottom clips and push the switch out the front panel of the saw, watch out for the terminal lead cables. good luck!
Question: Skilsaw 3400 Switch
In the diagram, which one is the switch? I blew it up in Acrobat but still couldn't find it.

Question: How To Remove Worm Gear On Skil ...
The blade is mounted on a short shaft, about 2" long, that has a worm gear at the other end. A tiny gear at the tip of the motor shaft engages the worm gear. It appears that the worm gear is no longer bound to the shaft, possibly due to a broken key, because the blade stops in wood, while the motor continues to run. In fact, I can spin the worm gear by hand. My problem is I can't figure out how to remove the gear from the shaft. Can't see a clip or set screw or anything. If anyone has knowledge of this arrangement, it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you started to tear down the motor yet? From what you wrote I can't decide if you mean that the gear is loose on the arbor shaft or if when you try to rotate the blade by hand the gears don't engage against each other. If you have taken the saw apart and confirmed that the gear on the arbor is spinning free then all you should need is the key, part #2610358915. The gear will likely have to be pressed off as it probably scored the gear and shaft when the key broke. You may be able to tap the shaft out of the gear with a hammer but be careful not to mushroom the end of the shaft. If you have not already verified that the key is broken then I would be more inclined to check and see if the gears on both the arbor and armature are not damaged. That is the more common problem with direct drive saws.
Hope this helps!
Question: Skil Model 3400 Table Saw Lock H...
I need a lock handle assembly for a Skil model 3400 table saw, Skil says it is no longer availiable. It is Skil part #2610358834. I am wondering if it might be possible to make something to take its place. Any help would really be appreciated.
Question: Anybody Have Any Info On Skilsaw...
I'm going to look at a used Skilsaw table saw. The guy said it is a model 3400. The picture looks like a model F012340098 or F012340099. Does anybody have any experience with this saw?
It appears to be a direct drive but I don't know how powerful the motor is.
I'll be needing to buy a rip fence and miter gauge but the price is low enough to make that worth while.

I have one of these that I have been using for several years building birdhouses and feeders. Pretty simple to operate and has not been any trouble.
