Question: 30cc Engine

GFT

Is it normal to see the muffler glowing orange inside and seeing a spark or two fly out when giving it throttle? As you can guess i was seeing this when it was dark out. Thought maybe the muffler needed to be replaced so i ordered a new muffler and gasket but it didn't change anything. A few uses later one day i attempt to start it up and can tell right away that the engine has very little compression if not no compression at all. What went wrong? Could this have been prevented?

Question: 30cc Engine

GFT

Is it normal for the muffler to be glowing orange inside and seeing some sparks fly out when giving it throttle?(noticed this at sundown) thought maybe the muffler needed to be replaced so bought a new one but was still seeing the same thing. After a few uses, the engine now has no compression and will not start.. did not do a compression test but can easily tell that there is no compression. What went wrong? Could this have been prevented?

Question: Throttle Cable

Hello 1411623 If you cannot find the individual throttle cable in the parts diagram on here; then check elsewhere. It would be of great HELP to have the part no. of that cable and to be sure, it should have one. Ebay is a great place to find Ryobi OEM and aftermarket parts. Sometimes, you have to look around to find parts that you need.
1411623, I now notice that the OP of this thread posted 3 years ago and most likely won't answer your inquiry although it is a good one. If you have the OLD throttle cable from the machine removed from the handle assembly, then you may be able to match it up with another Ryobi/Homelite cable without too much trouble.
I also have noticed that on HERE the cable is part of a whole throttle handle assembly. The machine I looked at with diagrams was the RY09600 backpack blower.

Question: Bellows

Peteski

Does this bellows slip over the blower's rigid tubes and is secured by wire clamps on each end? Is it 11 inches long and 3 inches inner diameter at each end? This is for a Ryobi backpack blower. The bellows cracked after only a few months of use and is now unfortunately out of warranty. This may be my first and last Ryobi product.

Hello 1146350,

The part number in question, 580693001 bellows is made of a hard stiff plastic material.

Hope this helps,

Question: Starves For Gas

sandytee525

I replaced the bulb and the fuel lines in my trimmer however it still runs for a short time (2 seconds) then runs out of gas. The bulb does not fill completely and quickly drains out any gas drawn into it. What could be the problem?

Probably a bad oil gas mix- use only 93 or 94 octane. Redo your gas oil mix "perfectly" exactly as oil mix label says...don't guess. drain the gas- push the bulb a couple times... clear it out. put in new gas- push the bulb a few times- start...keep pushing the bulb to push the new gas through. should smoke a little then should smooth out and run fine.

That reply did NOT answer the Question. I have the same problem. I replaced bulb also and still have prob and seeing you have changed the fuel lines (which i was thinking to do next. Thought it may be sucking air). I now have to go to the carborator. Dont think there is anything else left. I actually thought it may be the little black plug under the bulb releasing the fuel prematurely.

get a new carb... this new and improved gas with the ethanol tends to varnish and stop it up. if you cant get gas without ethanol, when done using pour remaining fuel out and run trimmer until it uses the fuel remaining in the carb and fuel lines.
Can anyone tell me how you get to the ignition and rotor assembley on the Ryobi RY09600 Backpack Blower. Is it necessary to take the blower housing off?
