Hello 1216086,

If your 300646001 PSA pad is still in good shape. You can order part number 974484001 Conversion Pad. All you need to do is to peel off the backing and place it on the PSA pad, and the other side will accept hook and loop sanding discs.

Hello 1122891,

You might try part number, 300527002 pad. It is a 5 inch pad that uses hook and loop discs So if it works you'll have to start using hook and loop discs instead of the PSA (Adhesive backed discs).

I have a RS241 and needed to replace the hook and loop pad on the sander. You can buy a replacement hook and loop kit at Lowe's for $15. It comes with glue and two pads and sandpaper. I put it on my sander and it works great.

Question: Gartley

I have a Ryobi RS240 a RS2418 and I need the pad for hook and loop sandpaper. What part do I need to order. It would look like item 27 or 28 but item 27 isn't listed.

Thanks

Did you ever find the hook and loop replacement pad? I have the same problem. I have washed it and it still will not stick. Everyone I talk to tells me that the newer ones have a replacement. I don't see the screw holes on my RS2418 either as displayed in the diagram

Ryobi, Frist of all, I like the sander, but I am getting a little frustrated finding the sand paper for it. I like the stick on sheets the best but can't seem to be able to find them. Home Depot and Lowes do carry them. I need the onrs with the holes in them as my model has the little vac bag. I tried using the sheets that you attach like velcro, but the sheet that you attach the velcro sheets to came off the pad attached to the sander. I also could not finf that replacement sheet anywhere. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! THANK YOU, CRAIG MURPHY

Item 27 is the actual Sandpaper Disk with the "fuzzy backing" (not a Ryobi product - a standard sanding disk)

Item 28 (Conversion Pad) is the velcro stick-on pad (a Ryobi Product) that you stick onto the Backing Pad (Item 25).

You then stick the fuzzy side of your "Item 27 Sanding Disk" to the Item 28 Conversion Pad's velcro.

I have been very happy with this tool for almost EIGHT years! It has served me well on a ton of different projects. Only recently did the brake come apart and the conversion pad detached from the disk. I'm willing to spend a little on replacement parts to keep this very reliable tool functioning.
