How do I restring the trimmer and what size do I use?

My drive cable is broke, nd twisted into, and looks like the part is obsolute???? Can I get another drive cabl, and cut to length?

I purchased this product from their reputation for easy starting. This is true but while using with the blade, the output shaft connection fractured and sent the blade flying down the hill. While I am not concerned about the blade safety issue, I am extremely upset that this part is discontinued. What good is a good starting engine if the product is useless due to a glorified $3.00 bolt. The bolt appeared to be made of pot metal (at the fracture point) versus a hardened steel at the main impact point of this product. If I end up purchasing a replacement unit due to lack of a glorified bolt, it won't be a Ryobi.

I use it as a brush cutter, and it does a great job. But if they are not going to back their parts, then I won't be buying Roybi products again. Mine is about 5 years ld, and the drive cable has twisted into. I am getting quotes back saying the part is obsolute with no substute listed...
