Reply: Spark Arrestor
The purpose of the 791-182747 spark arrestor is to prevent flammable and hot debris from coming out of the combustion chamber on most gas powered engines. This can stop a fire from starting in a field you may be using a trimmer in.
Hope this helps,

Question: Carburetor Adjustment
After cleaning the carburetor on a 705r trimmer what should be the starting point for the jet screw settings?
Reply: Carburetor Adjustment
About 1 1/2 turns OUT from a lightly seated position.
Question: Cable Or Bushing Housing Assembl...
My Ryobi 705r (41AD705G034) sporadically turns the Bushing Housing assembly which makes the trimmer string go round and round (rotate) so as to "cut" my grass. My long wire "cable" with the squared off end is either worn (looks like it is) or the square "hole" in the Bushing housing assembly is worn. To me it looks like the "cable" is worn so that it slips and doesn't turn the housing assembly.
I didn't see the "cable" in your online diagram. Is it available and how much does it cost and is it difficult to replace? Any instructions available if that is the problem? I did see the bushing housing assembly part A12.
Is there any way to tell for sure if it is the "cable" or the Bushing Housing Assembly so I know which part to replace?

Tom, I believe 9A is the cable, listed as the flex drive shaft
Question: 705r Trimmer Clutch Repl
I want to replace clutch had to drill out screw.is this a left handed screw and do I need a puller for the clutch removal
Reply: 705r Trimmer Clutch Repl
The clutch is threaded onto the motor shaft. It is a regular thread, counterclockwise to remove. You might try putting a rag over it and then using a large set of adjustable pliers to remove it. To keep the motor from rotating while you remove the check do the following. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder. Take a length of small diameter rope, like a shoe lace. Drop the rope through the spark plug hole into the cylinder. Be sure to leave enough of the rope hanging out so you can remove it later. The rope will bind up the piston without damaging it so you can remove the clutch.
I hope this helps with your repair!
Review: Ryobi - 705r
Absolutely useless tool. Sapre parts are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. I have spend already more than 50% of the purchasing costs in spare parts and it is not finish yet. I still have to by a fuel cap. You should make a better tool and sell it at higher price you will be making you a better name.Yvon Bergeron Laval QC CANADA.

Ryobi is considered one of the newer "disposable" type tools, that when they go amock, you just discard and replace. Weedeater and Homelite have that tag as well. But like many others, I enjoy restoring them BACK to the way they should be (if doesn't cost arm and leg!)
