Question: Blower-Vac

Bill Petitt

My blower vac #310BVr won't start unless I pour gas into the carb. After the gas is burned, it stops running. I have cleaned the carb and the reed valve looks OK.

The fuel lines on my blower broke into many pieces. I purchased new fuel lines. What is the proper routing for the lines?

Thanks

I had gas leaking from the tank. I took the blower apart, and found out that one of the hoses was bad as well. If I get the hose kit to repair this, is this going to stop the gas leak?

Hello,

We have a couple of articles and videos on that subject here are the links to them.

How to Replace Fuel Lines on 2-Cycle Engines

How to Replace Trimmer Fuel Lines

I know the second one is referring to trimmers, but I hope it will give you an idea on how to repair your blower.

Question: Impeller Removal

Larry

I thought my motor was going bad because it was revving up way too high and little or no air was coming out. I disassembled the lower blower unit to find that my impeller was just spinning freely on the bolt holding it on. Now I can't seem to remove the bolt because the crank will just turn also. Help is needed. Thanks

Hi John,

I assume you are referring to the ignition coil gap. The thickness of a couple of business cards is a good reference which is about .015".

I hope this helps!

Question: Hard Starts

Gordon

I have a Ryobi 310BVr leaf blower/vacuum, approx. 20 yrs. old. It has always been very hard to start when cold. After it's been running for awhile & I shut it off, it fires right back up again, since engine is still warm. It seems like it's not getting enough fuel although it runs fine after it's warmed up! Also, what does spark plug in it gap at? Any ideas? Thanks, Gordon

Hold large part of the metal fins with adjustable pliers to keep it from spinning. Remove the two nuts from shaft counterclockwise.
