Question: Ryobi 310r Carburettor

tkcons

where to buy a carburettor

Question: Trimmer Stops

newknox

My trimmer will some times run if I leave it on partial choke. If I put in on no choke it stops and is hard to restart. Do you think the carburetor repair kit will fix problem? It acts like it runs out of gas.

Suggest dissasembling and thoroughly cleaning the carb and Air filter.
I saw a video "here' on doing exactly that on a Ryobi.

Question: Fuel Line

ken brown

I need to know path of fuel lines.

Question: Fuel Lines

Buco

I need some direction on replacing the fuel lines from the gas tank, primer bulb & carb. Thanks, Buco

Question: Gas Lines

Dan

The gas lines fell apart and I don't know where to put the new ones.

Question: Gas Line Replacement

David Till

I have 2 older model 280r Ryobi gas blowers. My gas lines have deteriorated very badly. I'm confused as to where the new lines go as the old ones were all broken and out of place. I know the pressure line in the side of the tank goes up to the rubber pump but I don't know which ones go to the 2 nipples on the carb...(one in back and one in front)

I am confused as in the question above. The primer bulb has two fuel line connections, one longer than the other. Which of the two connects to the carb? Additionally, I assume the connector from the fuel tank goes to the other. This leaves a hole in the upper part of the fuel tank. I can't figure out what line goes there and how it is connected to the tank. This blower has been out of service for several months and all the lines had been removed. Hope this isn't so confusing that you are unable to determine my problem. Otherwise, all I need is directions as to connect the fuel lines as they should be. Lynn

How does the spring go back on ?

Question: Ryobi Leaf Blower 280r

Wolfrocket

I have a ryobi leaf blower model 280r and bought new gas lines but when I push the new lines on the plastic threads of the two pieces within the fuel tank and then push the white plastic washer up on the threads to trap the lines, the gas leaks from the tank. This is a unit that my father had and I'm trying to repair. Maybe I'm missing something in side the tank to seal the inside pieces with the out lines????? Can someone help me with this...looked easy to do.

Question: Ryobi 280r Leafblower

redryder

My leaf blower needs starting fluid just to start and even then it seems to be running real rough and on only 1/2 a cylinder. ;) Does not throttle up very well and seems to run at about half power and if I take the choke all the way off it stalls it out..seems to flood. It seems to be a carbueration problem...I am in no way a mechanic. I've tried carb cleaner but it doesn't seem to help much. I've located link removed for work on another tool and came across this forum. They seem to have all the parts I would need to fix leafblower but not sure where to start..? Any ideas..? Would hate to have this become one of the many disposeable tools you see today. Thanks!

How old is this blower. Has it had a lot of use Sounds like it needs more air. I looked at the breakdown and I don't see an air fuel adjustment screw?

That's a good point Dale...it's about 8yrs old. I haven't had it in many dusty conditions though but that is certainly worth a look. I've actually used it more blowing light snow off the deck than leaves and suchI'll see if I can clean the airfilter a little and get anywhere w/it. Thannks again, I'll let ya know how it goes. If you think of anything else to try, please let me know!

Hey there! You might want to check the Reed Valve assy right on the bottom of the crankcase below the carburetor, alot of times these reed valves become worn and do not close all the way when the piston is on its way down so it is unable to push all the atomized fuel into the combustion chamber. Alot of times this will cause the engine to operate like it is running on half a cylinder and eventually the fuel will build up in the bottom of the crankcase and flood the engine making it seem like the choke is on all the time! You can purchase the reed valve assy from eReplacementParts.com : Power Tool Parts and Tool Repair for $5.10 making it a pretty inexpensive fix! Here is the link to the diagram and parts list for that particular model.
