Question: Blower Parts

1281705

Are brushs replaceable and available for this blower?
WJA

WJA

Hello 1281705,

The manufacture doesn't provide the brushes for the 83807 Motor. If they are accessible and you are able to remove them. You could try a power tool repair shop in your area to see if they could match them up for you.

My spacer is broken. How do I get the old one off the shaft and how to install the new one?

Hello derryc,

It looks as if you will have to remove the motor cover, then the motor. You should be able to see the blower wheel. Under the blower wheel is the 86327 1/4 inch hex nut and then the 20043 washer. Then the blower wheel should come off and allow you to get to the 47862 spacer. I don't think it is pressed on, it should come right off. the reverse the order of the tear down. And hopefully you should be back up and running.

Mike: I also have a "locked" rocker switch on my 16650 vac. Took it apart and found it unrepairable---heat disintegrated one plastic shoulder support. Don't see any responses to your inquiry. Have you been able to come up with a compatible-fit switch yet? Would appreciate co-searching w/you!

Thanks!

Hi, I too have the same issue with the switch. I can't believe Ridgid won't ID a replacement for, what is a common failure. I ordered a switch from Mouser Electronics- 691-TA201-TB-B. It appears to be the same, but I have not yet received it to verify. Once I do I'll post a follow up.

Thanks to cdpar. The part # from Mouser Electonics #691-TA201-TB-B is right on. I ordered two switches and received them in four days from Texas and I live in New York. I paid $1.68 each and $4.99 in shipping. I'm glad they made them obsolete even thogh it's a joke they don't stock them anymore.

At this time the manufacture does not supply internal motor parts. You would have to purchase the complete motor assembly 83807 You also might try a local repair shop and see if they can match a part for you.

Thank you

Question: Filter Cover Repair

a gallagher

I have a Ridgid wet dry vac model WD16650 and have broken off the screw at the end of the filter cover 73637.
I don't know how to pull off the filter cover that is stuck on the wet dry vac. The top part of the screw broke off; I can't turn the part that remains part of the filter cover. Any ideas how to pull the filter cover off?

The brushes on motor wire have came off and cannot be bought locally and cannot be reconnected. Any suggestions?

Question: Blower Wheel

anthony

How do you get it un-screwed?
Robert
Reply: Blower Wheel

Robert

Insert a suitable thickness, long screwdriver between the slots on the blower wheel. This will hold the wheel and shaft still while you loosen the nut. If you will be installing the old wheel back on, take care not to bend or damage it during the removal process.

If you are trying to get an old, damaged wheel off, use some self-locking pliers to hold the wheel in place while loosening the nut. Again, take care not to damage the NEW wheel when installing it back onto the motor shaft.

If my blower wheel has been destroyed, will there be anything else to replace other than that? Would anything else have been damaged at the same time?

Does my wet dry vac have a thermal protection switch? I get power to the motor through the switch but my motor will not work. I have a rigid wd16650.

I also have the same problem and the switch is good. I have not been able to locate a thermal reset....and I bet a new motor costs more than you would pay for a new vac on sale.

Question: Casters

David Parrella

I have an older model ( # WD- 16300 ) 16 gal. 5.5 hp
Ser. # 99195-V2476
Are there any newer models that will match up to this older one?
If so please give me the part #s
The on/off switch is very cheap; this vacuum has not been used VERY much, and I've been told that it takes 2 weeks to get a new one.

Well I will replace it with a quality one.
It seems like the customer has to know how to do lots on their own, thanks.
