Question: Why Does My Blade Gaurd On My 12...
My MS129olz 12" miter saws blade guard keeps binding at the top of its stroke. How do I fix it?
Reply: Why Does My Blade Gaurd On My 12...
Make sure your blade is tight.
Does any one know the reason the brake stops working on this chop saw ?
What happens when you let the switch off, a short burst of electricity will be sent through the switch into the field, basically causing the motor to want to rotate in an opposite direction for just second, causing it to stop. You may want to check your 816768 brushes first to make sure they are making good contact with the armature. This would be the least expensive cause of the brake not working. The other cause could be the 089100303004 switch, this is the most common problem when the brake is not working. One more cause would be the motor field assembly. But it looks as if the manufacture does not provide it as a service part. You would need to order the complete 830253 Motor Assembly.
Hope this helps,
Question: Ridgid Eccentric Plate For Old M...
does anyone know the dimensions of the eccentric plate or have a template so I can make one of these since the part is not available anymore?
any help is appreciated
Reply: Ridgid Eccentric Plate For Old M...
Unfortunately when the manufacture stopped supplying the 830019 eccentric plate, they did not come out with a replacement part. You can keep searching on line for one. But hopefully someone will read this and give you the specs on it, so you can make your own.
Question: Belt, Poly, V Part Number: 83003...
How long, wide, & thick is this belt?

Unfortunately the manufacture does not give us the specs on the belt in the description of the part.
Question: Substitute Part?
Is there a new part number for a substitute part for this retainer bearing?
Reply: Substitute Part?
I don't know of a substitute part number for the 827409 bearing retainer. As it is a part number that is still available.
Question: Ms1290 Sliding Miter Saw Stuck
Can't slide the miter. Worked one minute, can't turn it the next.
Reply: Ms1290 Sliding Miter Saw Stuck
Hopefully it is still under warranty. When they assemble the base to the table in the factory they don't use any lube. Tiny bits of the aluminum break off in there every time you move the table. The aluminum bits roll around like a snow ball getting bigger and gouging the metal at the same time. The table eventually seizes up and is impossible to get apart. Whenever I replace the base and table assembly on these I separate them and lube with graphite grease. If your saw is not under warranty you may as well sell it for scrap.
Question: Actuator Link
can the actuator link be adjusted that controls the blade guard? currently guard will not allow blade to fully travel down to full cut position.
Reply: Actuator Link
It seems when the guard is binding on the Ridgid saws it is usually caused by the actuator link being bent or worn. It is item #9 on page E of the parts diagram, part #830041. The actuator bearing, item #12 on page B, part #821862, can also cause the guard to bind.
I hope this helps!
Question: Motor Casing
On diagram F the number 7 or 1 is the motor, my concern is that the motor works fine just the last people who used the saw never maintained it so the out side plastic cove has broke and that is the only thing I would like to replace I really don't what to have to replace the whole motor is that possible?
Reply: Lazer Adjustment
The user manual for your saw is available online at Ridgid's website. I just read through it and there does not appear to be any adjustment for the laser line. This isn't all that uncommon with the washer type mitersaw lasers. The manual states that with practice you will be able to judge where the blade will cut. I agree that a bit more accuracy would be nice.
I hope this helps!
Reply: Lazer Adjustment
I adjusted mine by opening the laser washer housing and tilting the laser over with part of an electrical shim. Although laser guides are kinda a useless gimmick if you ask me -- for accurate cuts, I put the blade to the workpiece before making the cut laser or no. When possible, I usually sneak up on the cut with a few long trial cuts too.
