Hi Floyd, The trick is to lock up the engine so you can remove it. Take the spark plug out. Pull the starter cord to where the piston is on the down stroke, and insert a length of small soft rope into the spark plug hole. Leave some rope outside the engine so you can remove it when done.

Question: Weedeater Blower

I notice that Weedeater gas blowers has several "types". My Model is FL 1500 LE but does not mention its type. Is there anyway to tell or should I concern myself with this.

Hi MHickey The Type 1 and Type II machines are practically the same. Is something wrong with your little blower we can help you with?

thanks for the input. Many sites say that there isn't a rebuild kit for the C1U Carburetor that is found on mine. Just checking to see if I can't find something without having to buy a new one.

Hi M Hickey There is a reference chart for these carburetors. CIU carbs have 2 kits available. One is the gasket and diaphragm kit and one is the complete rebuild kit. New carb prices are not too bad either. If I knew the complete model number of the csrb (it is usually stenciled on the body upper left of the mixture adjusting screws), then I could give you the part numbers for the kits.
So, which model carb do you have? I do not work for this vendor, I am only on here to help folks like yourself.

I only can find the C1U (and the L and H over the needles). I thought that too and trying to see what type my machine was might give me more insight. I have found a couple of vendors on ebay that say their product will work. I should stop being cheap and spend the $30 for a new one (ones really as I'm rebuilding two).

Hi MHickey That sounds like a good plan! The blower carbs are really low priced. I think some of them are model W-18, or W-18A...something like that.

Since you would like to rebuild two, compare the photos of the kits and carbs above with YOURS and you should find what you need.

I would like to order the Assy-Fuel Tank, how could I tell if my blower FL1500LE is type 1, 2 or 3 or does it make any difference?

Hello Mpsalinas,

You can go ahead and order the 545103903 Fuel Tank Assembly. It is used in all the types of the FL1500LE Blower.

Question: Walbro

jay9898

Why does my original carburetor not have the blue lever ???? Would it be better to rebuild my carb with the big kit or just buy a new one for $8.00 more.

Hello jay9898,

Sometimes manufactures will update parts for some of the machines. This may have happened in your case. In answer to either installing the 530071517 Repair kit, versus installing the new 530071629 carburetor. If you want to save some time, the new carburetor will take less time installing on your machine, than installing the repair kit and cleaning the existing carburetor.

Question: Fuel Pickup Assembly In Gas Tank

rarin2din

Found the Fuel Pickup Assy floating freely in the Gas tank of the WeedEater FL1500LE Blower, without any connection to the fuel lines.
Is the fuel pickup assy to be connected to the fuel line or is it just floating freely without any connection in the fuel tank?
If it needs to be fixed back to the fuel line in the gas tank, any suggestions of "how-to" ?

Thanks

Hello rarin2din,

There is couple of options you have to your situation. You could replace the fuel lines and fuel filter on your engine. We have an article and video on how to do this. Here is a link to the article. How to Replace Trimmer Fuel Lines and Filter. Or you can simply replace the fuel tank assembly, part number 545103903 . It includes the new fuel lines, fuel filter and new cap.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for the info. I will try to re-install the fuel pick up on the fuel line.Guess it's the fatter of the two lines.
Thank you

Looks like they removed my link. The fuel pickup goes on the smaller of the two lines. Replacing the fuel lines on a Poulan is MUCH easier than on the Ryobi they use in the above referenced article and video.

Hi fasesq,

That sounds like a carburetor issue. Either it is plugged with debris or the internal parts have become hard and brittle with age. If it is just plugged you can try cleaning it. If the parts have failed with age then you will need to replace the carb as there is no rebuild kit offered. The new carburetor is part #530071629. If want to try cleaning the carb we have an article and video that will help you out. You can find it here...

Question: Fl1500le Fuel Pickup

My fuel pickup broke loose inside my tank. If I buy a new fuel tank, does it include a fuel pickup? If not, how do you connect the fuel pickup since it's inside the tank?
stevenator
Reply: Fl1500le Fuel Pickup

Pour out the gas and you should be able to shake it out. You may need to replace the fuel lines if they are rotten or brittle. You can pull the fuel line out of the tank with a hook made out of a paper clip. The fuel pickup goes on the smaller of the two fuel lines.

Question: Replacing Fuel Line

dom

I have the fl1500le. I want to replace the fuel line. There are two clear lines going through holes in the gas tank. The larger one looks like it goes to the fuel pick up and lays at the bottom of the tank. Now once I push the thinner hose through the tank, what does that get connected to?
jerry G
Reply: Replacing Fuel Line

jerry G

The small hose protrudes about a 1/2 inch into tank and connects to nothing. The larger hose connects to the fuel pick up, which lays in the bottom of the fuel tank.

The fuel pickup goes on the smaller of the two fuel lines. The larger line just protrudes about 1/2" into the tank and does not connect to anything.

My blower turns over but does not start. I took it apart to check the starting module. It looks OK but it does act like a bad magneto.
