According to the specs of the chain you need. If you order part number 20BPX066G It should fit your saw perfectly.

Question: Poulan 2900 Chainsaw Help

Can anyone help, I need a coil for the poulan 2900 chainsaw I think, it will not fire, Have tried new plug, cleaned flywheel and coil and nothing will make it fire, or can someone tell me something else to try on this model.

The bar oiler to oil the chain is not working. Where does it oil the chain at? How does it work?

Oil comes out of the top slot and goes into the top hole in the bar. The bottom hole is for the adjustment screw. If you look into the top slot toward the sprocket, you can see the hole that the oil comes out of. The bar holes need to be clean along with the opening to the outside of the bar.

I had the same question, I noticed several differences, the metal claw to hold on the wood your cutting and the way the safety handle mounts. Other wise similar, mine ended up being the type 1
