I have a Poulan 2450 With same problem oil leak. You might try replacing the O-ring on the cap. You can to ACE Hardware with the old o-ring to match the size.

I should have been more explicit. The oil leaks through the same hole that lubricates the bar. It does a fine job of lubrication when the saw is running, but then it won't stop when the saw stops.

Hello Kay,

You will need to know the type number of the saw that you have. It looks as if there are a few different part numbers for the fuel tank. Locate the the type number of the saw, then find the correct parts diagram below.
