Question: Switch Installation

I am finally getting around to installing the replacement switch I got from you for my Poulan 1625 electric chain saw. I quickly found that the safety button (push to release the trigger) won't go through the hole on the housing. In the parts list the switch comes in two parts implying that the button is shoved in and clicks to its final position through the housing. The switch I got has the button in place already. How do I get the safety button out of the switch without breaking it so I can put it through the small hole in the housing?

Review: Poulan - 1425 Great Machine

I've had my 1425 for 10 years now and haven't had a single problem during that time. The only items I have replaced are the saw chains once they couldn't be sharpened anymore. Now, the safety button has fallen out and the line cord has pulled out of the back of the unit, so I'm ordering replacements for them and when I take it apart to install them, I'll give the inside housing a thorough cleaning. I would recommend this unit to a friend. I bought it at a military PX.
