I would suspect the problem is the Check Seal. It is an o-ring around the cylinder that acts as a valve. It commonly will cause the problem you described. The Check Seal is part #886119 and is available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com.
I hope this helps with your repair!

Roofing Nail Gun Question by David Spies
The gun is leaking air around the trigger and at the top of the gun. Do you have a repair suggestion?
I had the same problem at 1st. Found out that #127 check seal goes over#126 cylinder, right over the small holes on the cylinder. when you pulled it apart #127 catches on#128 cylinder spacer and falls into the bottom. The parts diagram will not show this very good. Try this

Hi Jeremy,
It sounds like you have problems with several different seals in the gun. I would suggest installing the overhaul kit. It will replace all of the o-rings that commonly leak and the trigger valve. It is part #903789 and is available from http://www.ereplacementparts.com.
I hope this helps with your repair!

nail gun Question by keith
I've got air blowing out of the top of my nail gun and it won't work.
Hi Keith, Your best bet is to install an overhaul kit, part # 60075. The kit will replace the o-rings and gaskets that most commonly cause air leaks in your gun. The overhaul kit is available here at http://www.ereplacementparts.com. Good luck with your repair! -Mark
Double Firing Question by Doug
My Porter cable RN 175 roof coil nailer double fires when depressed and I pullback on the trigger.
I have a porter cable rn175 coil nailer. when you pull the triger the piston fires but it will not return. it stays in the down position. I have installed a rebuild kit part #60075 but this did not help. Also the nailmover piston retracts and slowly moves the next nail into the fireing position.Help please!!...
